Any pasta recipe is always welcome. Here are a few easy macaroni recipes for everyday use. I hope you'll find them handy and tasty. remember that any pasta recipe can always be improved by sprinkling a little grated parmasan cheese over it. If parmasan cheese is not available, any strong flavoured cheese will do.


MACARONI RECIPES


Home-made macaroni recipe


Ingredients for this recipe:


  • 4 Cups of flour
  • 1 Egg
  • Water

The Method for This Recipe:


  1. To four cupfuls of flour, add one egg well beaten, and enough water to make dough that can be rolled.
  2. Roll thin on a breadboard and cut into strips.
  3. Dry in the sun.
  4. The best arrangement for this purpose is a wooden frame to which a square of cheese-cloth has been tightly tacked, upon which the macaroni may be laid in such a way as not to touch, and afterwards covered with a cheese-cloth to keep off the dust during the drying.

Boiled macaroni Recipe


Ingredients for this recipe:


  1. 1 Large cup of macaroni
  2. 1 Pint of milk
  3. Salt to taste
  4. 1 Egg

The method for this recipe:


  1. Put a large cup of macaroni into boiling water and cook until tender.
  2. When done, drain thoroughly, then add a pint of milk, part cream, a little salt and one well-beaten egg; stir over the fire until it thickens, and serve hot.

Macaroni with cream sauce Recipe


Ingredients for this recipe:


  • Macaroni
  • 1 pint of rich milk
  • 1 Heaped tablespoon flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

The method for this recipe:


  1. Cook the macaroni as directed in the proceeding recipe, and serve with a cream sauce.
  2. Prepare the cream sauce by heating a scant pint of rich milk to boiling, in a double boiler.
  3. When boiling, add a heaping tablespoonful of flour, rubbed smoothed in a little milk and 1/4 teaspoonful of salt.
  4. The sauce may be flavored by steeping in the milk before thickening for ten or fifteen minutes, a slice of onion or a few bits of celery, and then removing with a fork.

Macaroni with tomato sauce Recipe


Ingredients for this recipe:


  • 1 Cup macaroni
  • Milk (for cooking, half and half with water)
  • 1 Pint stewed tomatoes
  • 1 Tablespoon flour
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ Cup sweet cream

Method for this recipe:


  1. Drop a cup of macaroni into boiling milk and water, equal parts.
  2. Let it boil for an hour, or until perfectly tender.
  3. In the meantime prepare the sauce by rubbing a pint of stewed or canned tomatoes through a colander to remove all seeds and fragments.
  4. Heat to boiling, thicken with a little flour; a tablespoonful to the pint will be about the requisite proportion.
  5. Add salt and if desired and a half cup of very thin sweet cream.
  6. Dish the macaroni into individual dishes, and serve with a small quantity of the sauce poured over each dish.

Macaroni baked with granola Recipe


Ingredients for this recipe:


  • 1 Large cup of macaroni
  • Milk (for cooking) half and half with water
  • Granola
  • 1 Pint milk
  • 2 Egg yolks
  • ¼ Teaspoon salt

The method for this recipe:


  1. Cook a large cup of macaroni until tender in boiling milk and water.
  2. When done, drain and put a layer of the macaroni in the bottom of a pudding dish, and sprinkle over it a scant teaspoonful of granola.
  3. Add a second and third layer and sprinkle each with granola.
  4. Then pour over the custard sauce prepared by mixing together a pint of milk, the well beaten yolks of two eggs or one whole egg, and 1/4 teaspoonful of salt. Care should be taken to arrange the macaroni in layers loosely, so that the sauce will readily permeate the whole.
  5. Bake for a few minutes only, until the custard has well set, and serve.

Eggs and macaroni Recipe


Ingredients for this recipe:


  • 1 Cup macaroni
  • 4 Egg yolks
  • 13/4 Rich milk
  • ¼ Teaspoon salt
  • 1 Heaped teaspoon flour
  • Grated bread crumbs

 

Method for this recipe:


  1. Cook a cup of macaroni in boiling water.
  2. While the macaroni is cooking, boil the yolks of four eggs until mealy.
  3. The whole egg may be used if caught so the yolks are mealy in the whites simply jellied, not hardened.
  4. When the macaroni is done, drain and put a layer of it arranged loosely in the bottom of a pudding dish.
  5. Slice the cooked egg yolks and spread a layer of them over the macaroni.
  6. Fill the dish with alternate layers of macaroni and egg, taking care to have the top layer of macaroni.
  7. Pour over the whole a cream sauce prepared as follows:
  8. Heat 13/4 cup of rich milk until boiling, add 1/4 teaspoonful of salt and one heaping spoonful of flour rubbed smooth in a little cold milk.
  9. Cook until thickened, and then pour over the macaroni.
  10. Sprinkle the top with grated bread crumbs, and brown in a hot oven for eight or ten minutes.
  11. Serve hot.
